Shaun Blaney, who starred in RTÉ's Storyland web series, 'Farr', has won the Best Actor in a Drama Series award at the IAWTVA's.
The International Academy of Web Television Awards, which took place in Las Vegas, celebrates the best in digital entertainment.
Belfast based drama ‘Farr’ focuses on a police officer, Detective Michael Gallagher, played by Blaney, whose personal life and career come crashing down around him as he investigates the city’s most dangerous crime family.
Directed and written by Aidan Largey, ‘Farr’ was produced by Margaret McGoldrick for Stirling Film and Television Productions and was one of the five chosen web series of RTÉ's 2015 Storyland project, which is funded by RTÉ and the Irish Film Board.
Another Storyland series ‘CTLR’ was nominated for Best Dramatic Series at the IAWTV Awards. It was directed by Brian Deane, written by Matthew Roche, and starred Fionn Walton in the lead role. The story follows a brilliant young hacker who must prove himself to an elite hacktivist group in order to gain their trust and help secure his freedom. It was produced by John Wallace and Emmet Fleming for Black Sheep Productions.
