IFTA hosts ‘Glassland’ screening for Academy Members followed by Q&A with Gerard Barrett
15 Apr 2015 :
Screening was followed by a Q&A with writer/director Gerard Barrett
With the IFTA viewing season well underway, Element Pictures Distribution and the Irish Film and Television Academy (IFTA) hosted a screening of ‘Glassland’ on Tuesday 14th April 2015.

The screening took place in the Lighthouse Cinema Dublin, followed by a Q&A with writer and director Gerard Barrett – whose debut feature ‘Pilgrim Hill’ led to him receiving the IFTA Rising Star Award in 2013.

Set in Dublin, ‘Glassland’ tells the story of a young taxi driver (Jack Reynor) who gets tangled up in the world of human trafficking while trying to save his mother (Toni Collette) from addiction.

The film has received early recognition ahead of it's release on Friday at the Galway Film Fleadh (tying with ‘Patrick’s Day’), Dublin Critics Circle Awards and at Sundance Film Festival for it's lead actor Jack Reynor.

'Glassland' is produced by Blank Page Productions.

Voting in the IFTA Film & Drama Awards opens for Academy Members on Thursday, April 16.
