‘Paramedics’, a six part documentary series detailing the hectic routine of Ireland’s frontline emergency medical services, will commence on Thursday, April 16 on TV3.

‘Paramedics’ is produced by Tile Films for TV3 with the help of the HSE National Ambulance Service and will explore the intense and gripping work of the people for whom responding to emergencies is a way of life.

The series will look at the paramedics responding to heroin overdoses, car crashes and cardiac arrests. Viewers will be introduced to Advanced Paramedic Supervisor Peter DeIea, Paramedic Supervisor Imelda O’Shea Coughlan and Paramedic Gloria Comerford, who are all based in Cork as well as Advanced Paramedic Andy O’Toole, Paramedic Laura Hogan and Paramedic Katrina Sheerin, who all face similar situations but they are based in Loughlinstown, Dublin.

The series will bring the viewers on a journey that has previously remained behind the ambulance doors, giving insight to the types of emergencies that paramedics face on a daily basis, as well as the paramedics themselves.

Produced by Tile Films for TV3 with the help of the HSE National Ambulance Service, ‘Paramedics’ airs on Thursday 16th April at 9pm on TV3.

Tom Collins: “For me it's all about the work, which is about creating a reflection of a modern Irish cultural identity that can travel beyond borders, history and these shores.”
