‘The Legend of Harry & Ambrose’, a Crooked Gentlemen production, is currently in post-production and is due for completion by the end of the month.

Crooked gentlemen are a comedy group that consists of Jeff Doyle (‘Jack & Ralph Plan a Murder’), Shaun Ryan (‘Limp’) and Johnny Elliott (‘Nothing of Substance’). The film was written, directed and produced by the members of Crooked Gentlemen and it is their first feature film.

‘The Legend of Harry & Ambrose’ is set in Ireland during the 1800's and revolves around the relationship between Harry and Ambrose - two British red coat soldiers who are hopelessly in love with each other but because of their loyalty to the crown and an alien abduction they cannot act upon their desires.

The film ridicules the Hollywood model of historical epic drama's that glorifies the apparent heroism of imperialists while reducing the victims of imperialism to that of grateful, disposable ethnics.

Jeff Doyle plays Ambrose and Johnny Elliott plays role of Harry. The film also stars John Connors (‘Love/Hate’, ‘Charlie’), Stephen Clinch (‘Love/Hate’), Bryan Quinn (‘Stitches’), Cora Fenton (‘Strength & Honour’) and Chris Newman (‘Red Rock’).

Currently being composed by Rory Pierce (‘Waveriders’) with sound design by Nikki Moss (‘Patrick's Day’, ‘Good Vibrations’) The Legend of Harry & Ambrose is due for completion by the end of March.
