RTÉ have sent out a call for cast members of the drama series ‘Insurrection’ which aired in 1966 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1916 Rising.

The eight part series was written by Hugh Leonard and was produced and directed by Louis Lentin. The production involved eight months of work, with an elaborate set built to recreate the interior of the GPO.

The show starred Gerry Alexander, Maurie Taylor, Pat Nolan and Ray McAnally as reporters covering the 1916 Rising with Eoin O Súilleabháin portraying P.H Pearse and Ronnie Walsh playing James Connelly.

RTÉ would like to get in touch with other cast members who appeared in the series. Email Etain.Ryan@rte.ie or phone Etain on 01 2083119. In the case of deceased actors, their families are invited to contact instead.
