Following unanimous praise for his performance in Gerard Barrett’s GLASSLAND, Jack  Reynor  was awarded a special Jury Prize  at the closing ceremony for the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah last night.

The Hollywood Reporter commented on his “exceptional work” and how “several close-ups of Reynor’s face as he beams with love or is fraught with worry…confirm the actor’s impressive talent for conveying emotions without using words.”

The highly influential site Indiewire highlighted Reynor’s “career-making performance…while subdued, stands out because of its naturalistic humanity.”

The Cinephile website the Film Experience describe the film as “gut-wrenching” and that “Jack Reynor (future star) ably carries the movie” while the PeopleMovies site comment that “Reynor is the heart at the rock of the narrative.”

Speaking on the award Reynor commented 'I'm absolutely thrilled to have been considered and to have won a prize at Sundance this year. It's definitely a reflection of the work of everybody who was part of the film and I'm incredibly proud to have worked with all of them.'

Jack’s breakout performance was in Lenny Abrahamson’s What Richard Did (also produced by Element Pictures) which debuted at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival and screened at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival bringing Jack to the attention of Hollywood.

This led to parts in The Delivery Man (2013) with Vince Vaughan and  the fourth installment of the Transformerseries, starring alongside Mark Wahlberg. Reynor has recently finished filming the upcoming adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, directed by Justin Kurzel, playing the role of Malcom alongside Marion Cotillard and Michael Fassbender as well as John Carney’s Sing Street. He is currently shooting Jim Sheridan’s The Secret Scripture with Rooney Mara.

GLASSLAND features a formidable cast including Jack Reynor (What Richard Did, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Macbeth), Emmy, Golden Globe award winning and Oscar Nominated actress Toni Collette (Sixth Sense, Little Miss Sunshine, The Way, Way Back),  2014 Bafta Rising Star Will Poulter (Son of Rambow, We’re the Millers, The Maze Runner) and British Independent Film award winning actor Michael Smiley (A Field in England, Kill List, The World’s End).
