TV3 Continues to Roll Out home-grown Irish shows in 2015
12 Jan 2015 :
TV3 has begun 2015 by launching a slew of home-grown shows - with ‘Red Rock’, ‘The Restaurant’, ‘Renovation Nation’, ‘The Holiday Show’ and ‘Donal McIntyre: Breaking Crime’ already launching in the opening week of 2015.

Also launching on Saturday, January 10th on TV3 will be the 3Studios /Soshefeigh Media co-production ‘The Algorithm’, hosted by Ray Foley, a show in which groups of families/friends will try and climb the prize money ladder by trying to predict one of their own team member’s answers – a player who’s been isolated in a soundproof booth on stage, all the while competing against The Algorithm.

Another show to launch soon will be ‘Jason Byrne’s Snaptastic Show’ which sees the comedian inviting celebrity guests to share some of their old photos as well as trawling the internet for the funniest, scariest and most confusing images. The show will be produced in-house at the TV3 studios.

Also coming this month will be ‘Ireland’s Oyster Clan’, a six-part scripted reality series which takes the viewer down to the beautiful coastal Cooley Peninsula. Each week, the show follows the Louet-Feisser family, Kian, Charm, Mary, Gary, Darren and their children, friends and employees, as they strive to make their company the most successful Oyster business in Ireland.

TV3 also transmitted the television premiere of the acclaimed Irish film ‘The Guarantee’, produced by John Kelleher Media and distributed by Wildcard Distribution. The political fact-based drama starring Peter Coonan and Gary Lydon depicts the events of the bank guarantee, and the film was followed by a special episode of ‘Tonight with Vincent Browne’ in which he held a debate on topics raised in the film.

The launch of home-grown shows has proved a hit for TV3, particularly with the highly-anticipated soap ‘Red Rock’, co-produced by Element Pictures and Company Pictures, which debuted to strong viewing figures this week as 410,800 people watched the first episode, with an impressive 302,900 people sticking around to watch the second episode the following night also.

Also in the pipeline for TV3 is adaptations of successful British shows ‘Gogglebox’ and ‘Blind Date’ with ‘Late Lunch Live’ presenter Lucy Kennedy attached to present the latter.
