Image Ireland - Ireland’s first dedicated Visual Effects School and the first Foundry-authorised Nuke training centre has announced its list of upcoming courses for the end of 2014 and the new-year.
Image Ireland is a provider of courses preparing students of all ages for a career in the games, visual effects and animation industries.
They aim to foster creative thinking and provide students with an intensive, relevant and rewarding education in the art of Visual communication. Under the guidance of practicing professionals they encourage their students to build practical foundations, while expanding their vision and exploring new avenues of expression.
Image Ireland’s first ever Storyboard open night will be held on December 8th and CEO Stephen Lohan urges anybody interested in Storyboarding to come along. That night will be with Ian McCaffrey who has Storyboarded for shows such as ‘Penny Dreadful’ and J.A Bayona's new feature film ‘A Monster Calls’.
New courses announced are:
- Cinema 4D mograph for VFX 2014 from November 24th-November 28th with Cinema 4D Expert Trainer Rob Redman
- ZBrush short course in December with character and creature designer Glen Southern
- Nuke Course in January which has one place left, tutor yet to be revealed
- Acting For Animators with performer, writer, theatre maker & visual artist Una Kavanagh
- Concept Art with Dublin based ilIustrator and VFX artist Nick Grey
- Storytelling Through Copywriting with Copywriter and Creative Ian Brower
- Python Scripting with Luke Harris from Brown Bag Films
CEO Stephen Lohan says of Image Ireland’s array of courses and tutors: ‘Our tutors are our strength and your gain but we are actually trying to create a VFX community here at Image Ireland. I think it’s important for people to know that they can call in here at any time to have a chat with me or any of our tutors – if there is any tutor in particular you want to talk to we can give out their number and you can call them. Along with our courses, we will also be introducing more open nights at the Sugar Club in the new year. We want people to get that sense of community here and want to be at the hub of VFX in Ireland.’
