New indie distributor Aspiration Media has acquired ‘Noble’, the biopic about children’s rights advocate Christina Noble. The LA-based Aspiration Media, which aims at an ‘aspirational’ audience, plans to release the film in spring 2015 and to subsequently release three to five titles annually.
‘Noble’ is directed by Stephen Bradley and stars Deirdre O’Kane, Sarah Greene, Brendan Coyle and Liam Cunningham. The Irish film was produced by Bradley and Melanie Gore-Grimes and exec produced by Michael J. Hunt through his Ansty Productions.
‘Noble’ is based on the true life story of Christina Noble, chartering her overcoming harsh childhood to later start a charity to help street children and their families in Vietnam and Mongolia.
The film, which is currently showing in the IMC Dun Laoghaire, won the Panavision Spirit Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and audience awards at festivals in San Diego, Dallas, Nashville and Newport Beach. The film won the best feature and special jury prize at the Boston Irish Film Festival.
The deal was negotiated by Continental Media, which has also sold distribution rights for ‘Noble’ to Avalon Distribution (Spain), L’Atelier d’Images (France), Shoval Film (Israel) and Able Entertainment (South Korea).
