The 2nd Richard Harris Film Festival will take place 24th - 26th October, 2014, in 69 O'Connell Street, Limerick City.
At the launch of the festival last month, Eleanor McSherry, Creative Director for the festival, announced that the festival had signed a three year contract with the Harris Estate so that the festival will have a member of Harris’s family at the festival. This year, Richard Harris’s sons Jared (‘Mad Men’, ‘Sherlock Holmes’) and Jamie (‘Planet of the Apes’, ‘In the Name of the Father’) will both be in attendance.
Other attendees will include John B Keane’s family Billy and Mary Keane, producer Noel Pearson (‘My Left Foot’, ‘The Field’), musician Moley O'Súillibháin, Des Moore ('The Field’, ‘Riverdance’) and local filmmakers.
The opening film (on Friday 24th October) is a screening of ‘The Field’. On Saturday 25th there will be a short film competition in the morning, held in conjunction with the Newport Beach Film Festival, and a screening of Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘What Richard Did’ in the afternoon.
On Sunday 26th October, the screenings are 'The Field' and 'Starred Up'.
The Limerick Film Archive will host an exhibition of Richard Harris Memorabilia in 69 O’Connell Street, Limerick, throughout the duration of the festival.
