Jim Sheridan will be directing and Noel Pearson is producing the film which will be shot in Ireland with an Irish crew. The script is written by the late Johnny Ferguson and revolves around a woman’s extended stay at a mental hospital. Rooney Mara, Vanessa Redgrave and Jeremy Irons are confirmed for the feature.
According to Variety, Bana will play a rebellious doctor who is responsible for reviewing Roseanne’s (Mara) case, James will play the local Catholic priest and Reynor a member of the British army and Mara’s love interest.
Theo James recently wrapped production on ‘Franny’ opposite Dakota Fanning and can also be seen in ‘The Inbetweeners Movie’ and ‘London Fields’. He is the male lead in the ‘Divergent’ franchise and will go immediately into filming ‘The Secret Scripture’ following production on ‘Insurgent’, the second feature of the franchise.
Eric Bana’s many credits include ‘Hulk’, ‘The Time Traveller’s Wife’, ‘Star Trek’, ‘Munich’, ‘Troy’, ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’, ‘Lone Survivor’, ‘Black Hawk Down’ and ‘Hanna’, opposite Saoirse Ronan. Bana will next be seen on the big screen in Irish cinemas in Screen Gems’ horror ‘Deliver Us From Evil’, which is out on August 20th.
