Following last week’s report that Michael Slovis was confirmed as one of the directors for Season 5 of ‘Game of Thrones’, the remaining helmers for the upcoming season have been revealed. Five directors have been selected and each will direct two episodes of the upcoming season of the hit HBO series.
David Nutter (‘Shameless’), who previously directed the infamous season 3 episode ‘The Rains of Castamere (The Red Wedding)’, is returning to the series to direct the penultimate and finale episodes of the fifth season. As previously reported by IFTN, Michael Slovis, who is best-known as a director and cinematographer for the critically-accliamed series ‘Breaking Bad’, will direct the first two episodes of the new season of ‘GOT’.
Besides Nutter, the other four directors are making their debuts on the show – they are Slovis, Jeremy Podeswa, Mark Mylod and Miguel Sapochik.
Mylod, whose directorial TV credits include ‘Entourage’ and ‘Shameless’, will direct episodes three and four. Podeswa, who has helmed episodes for a number of highly acclaimed series including ‘Homeland’, ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire’, will direct episodes five and six. Finally, Sapochnik, who directed for ‘House’, will take the helm of episodes seven and eight.
The past season of 'Game of Thrones' has dominated this year's Emmy nominations with an impressive 19 nominations. The fifth season of the series returns in 2015, and a sixth season for the show has also been confirmed.
