Roles for Sam Keeley, Dominique McElligott and Ruth Bradley

Sam Keeley for ‘Chef’ Opposite Bradley Cooper

Sam Keeley (‘What Richard Did’, ‘RAW’) is in negotiations to star opposite Bradley Cooper in the film ‘Chef’. Omar Sy and Sienna Miller will star alongside him and the film is to be directed by John Well, who helmed ‘August Osage County.’

The film tells the story of Adam Jones (Cooper), a hard-living, Paris-based chef who is trying to rebuild his career and win a three-star Michelin rating. Keeley will play David, another chef who joins Jones’s kitchen, who Jones ends up crashing with when he is displaced from his home. Stacey Sher, Erwin Stoff and Michael Shamberg are producing.

Keeley was recently named one of Screen’s 2014 Stars of Tomorrow (as was Aisling Franciosi, star of ‘Jimmy’s Hall’). He was recently cast in Ron Howard’s ‘In the Heart of the Sea’ and will next appear on the big screen in ‘Monsters: Dark Continent’.

Dominique Elligott lands role in US TV Series

Irish actress Dominique Elligott, whose previous roles were on hit series ‘RAW’ and ‘Hell on Wheels’, will return to the silver screen once again having landed a role in ‘Astronaut Wives Club’, a pilot being made by ABC. Elligott is originally from Rathfarnum and has also taken on film roles in the past for ‘Leap Year’ and ‘The Guard’.

’The Astronaut Wives Club’ tells the story of the spouses of the men involved in the space race and is based on Lily Koppel’s book of the same name. Dominique has been lined up to portray Louise Shepard, the wife of the first American in space, Alan Shepard. Dominique’s character struggles to maintain her marriage once her husband becomes world-famous.

According to Elligott, this was one of her most challenging roles to date: “When I was doing some of Lily's scenes, I found it so draining emotionally, physically, and mentally - more so than any other shoot or character… I would go home with 42 mosquito bites, weighed down by 100lb clothes and corsets.”

Ruth Bradley for ‘Pursuit’ – a Feature Film to be shot in Dublin

Former ‘Love/Hate’ star Ruth Bradley has secured the female lead in Pursuit, a contemporary action romance to be directed by Paul Mercier. Bradley is best-known for her role as Mary, the sister of Darren Treacy, played by Robert Sheehan, in the gangland hit series ‘Love/Hate’. She also played the female lead on Irish comedy ‘Grabbers’, for which she won the Best Actress IFTA in 2013.

‘Pursuit’, which will be both directed and written by Mercier, is shooting in Dublin from July 14th. Brendan Gleeson and Liam Cunningham will lead the cast, and actors Barry Ward (‘Jimmy’s Hall, ‘Shooting for Socrates’) and Owen Roe (‘Intermission’, ‘Breakfast on Pluto’) have also secured parts in the film. Anne Gately is producing with An Pointe Productions as the production company. The project has received funds from the BAI, the IFB, Telegael and TV3.

In the past, Ruth Bradley’s feature film roles have also included ‘The Sea’ and ‘Stardust’. Other TV roles include Amy Huberman-starring ‘Threesome’, US sci-fi show ‘Horizon’, ABC pilot ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and Disney’s ‘Big Thunder’.
