Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie breaks Irish Box Office Records

Mrs Browns’ Boys D’Movie has taken a record breaking €1.02m at the Irish box office after its first 3 days on release, representing 19.2% of the UK and Irish Box Office total.

Mrs Browns’ Boys D’Movie opening of €1.02m, released across 90 locations(€11,300 screen average), was the biggest opener at the 2014 Irish box office to date. It is also the 3rd Largest All-time Comedy Opening- after The Hangover 2 (€1.19m) and Ted (€1.11m) and beating The Inbetweeners (€846k), Bridget Jones 2 (€904k) and Hancock (€911k)

It is the biggest opening on record for a local film:

Commenting on the opening weekend figures, Dave Burke, General Manager of Universal Pictures International Ireland said, “We are thrilled that Irish cinemagoers have embraced the phenomenon that is Agnes Brown and made her Queen of the Box Office. The results are truly spectacular.”

Mrs Browns’ Boys D’Movie has also dominated the UK market and is the #1 movie in the UK & Ireland, taking an overall £4.27 million in its opening weekend.
