UK director Peter Nicholson is currently in prep for his first feature film, psychological thriller ‘Dartmoor Killing’. Irish actress Gemma-Leah Devereux has been confirmed as a member of the cast. She will star alongside Rebecca Night (‘Lark Rise to Candleford’, ‘Cold’), Callum Blue (‘Dead Like Me’, ‘Smallville’), David Hayman (‘Queen and Country’, ‘Macbeth’) and theatre actress Olivia Morgan.
Gemma-Leah Devereux was the lead actress of such Irish films as ‘How to Be Happy’, opposite Brian Gleeson, and cult horror ‘Stitches’. She also had recurring roles in TV series ‘Casualty’ and ‘The Tudors’. Her upcoming films include ‘Get Up and Go’, in which she features with ‘Love/Hate’ stars Killian Scott and Peter Coonan, and ‘Poison Pen’, written by Eoin Colfer.
‘Dartmoor Killing’ begins shooting next Wednesday, June 10th. From a script co-written by Isabelle Grey (‘The Bill’, ‘Accused’) and director Peter Nicholson, the story is about two friends in their twenties who are led into a series of mind games, sexual deceit and betrayal after meeting a mysterious stranger on a weekend trip.
Nicholson is best-known for directing TV movies and TV documentaries. His credits include ‘Pompeii: The Last Day’ and ‘Nuremberg: Goering’s Last Stand’.
The producer of ‘Dartmoor Killing’ is Jayne Chard, while Penny Wolf and Luke Randolph are executive producers. The film was developed with support from Film London’s Build Your Audience and Micro-Market.
