Chris O’Dowd Nominated for Tony Award
Irish actor Chris O’Dowd has been nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in ‘Of Mice and Men’ on New York’s Broadway.
O’Dowd made his Broadway debut in the revival of John Steinbeck’s classic 1937 tale of Depression-era America alongside James Franco and Leighton Meester. This is O’Dowd first Tony nod and he will go up against Samuel Barnett (Twelfth Night), Bryan Cranston (All The Way), Mark Rylance (Richard III) and Tony Shalhoub (Act One) in the category of best actor in a play. Also nominated is John Patrick Shanley’s Irish drama ‘Outside Mullingar’ for best play against ‘Act One’, ‘All the Way’, ‘Casa Valentina’ and ‘Mothers and Sons’. Starring Irish actor Brían F. O'Byrne (Love/Hate), Debra Messing (Will & Grace), Peter Maloney (West Side Story) and Dearbhla Molloy (Dancing at Lughnasa), ‘Outside Mullingar’ is a light; heartfelt comedy freckled with dark reflections on the unsatisfactory nature of life and the thorns of love. Irish actress Sarah Greene has also been nominated in the 'Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play' for her performance in 'The Cripple Of Inishmaan', a dark comedy by Martin McDonagh. Greene recently featured as the ‘middle’ character Christina in Stephen Bradley's 'Noble'. The movie, which also stars Deirdre O’Kane (Moone Boy), Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey) and Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones), recently received the 'Audience Award for World Narrative' at Nashville Film Festival as well as the 'Audience Award for Narrative Feature' at Dallas International Film Festival and in March received the 'Special Jury Prize' at the Boston Irish Film Festival.
The 2014 Tony Awards, hosted by Hugh Jackman, will take place in Radio City Music Hall in New York on June 8. A full list of the nominees can be viewed here.

‘The Fault In Our Stars’ Trailer
20th Century Fox have released a new extended trailer for ‘The Fault In Our Stars’, directed by Josh Boone (Stuck in Love).
