Relativity Media has acquired U.S. distribution right to Pierce Brosan’s new spy-thriller ‘November Man’, which is due to be released later this year.
‘November Man’ was announced in 2012 at Cannes by Brosnan’s production company Irish DreamTime as the launch title in a multipicture financing and distribution deal in association with The Solution Entertainment Group, Merced Media Partners and Palmstar Media Capital.
Directed by Roger Donaldson (No Way Out ), the film centres on an ex-CIA operative (Brosnan) who is brought back in on a very personal mission and finds himself pitted against his former pupil (Luke Bracey) in a deadly game involving high level CIA officials and the Russian president-elect. It marks the second project for Relativity with Donaldson, who helmed the 2008 hit ‘The Bank Job’.
‘November Man’ is written by Michael Finch (American Assassin, Masters Of The Universe) and Karl Gajdusek (Oblivion, The Mechanic), and is based on Bill Granger's ‘There Are No Spies’ novel, the seventh book in Granger's 13-part ‘November Man’ series. The film is produced by Brosnan’s longtime partners Beau St. Clair and Sriram Das.
Also on the castlist is fellow Bond veteran Olga Kurylenko (Oblivion), Bracey (G.I. Joe: Relaliation), Will Patton (Armageddon), Eliza Taylor (Neighbours), Bill Smitrovich (Iron Man) and Patrick Kennedy (Atonement).
Brosnan is currently starring in ‘The Love Punch’ alongside Emma Thompson and is also set to feature in ‘A Christmas Star’, a Northern Ireland production made by Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People, with co-star Liam Neeson. Filming will take place in October of this year. BBC, UTV and Panavision will work in partnership with Cinemagic to help produce and premiere the film.
