Moondance Production has announced that ‘The Zoo’ television series will return to our screens with ten new episodes.
Now entering its fifth season, ‘The Zoo’ will once again bring to life the emotion and passion the zookeepers of Dublin Zoo have for their animals in a dramatic and highly entertaining new series. The new series leave the confines of the zoo to visit some of the international conservation projects funded and supported by Dublin Zoo, from barn owl conservation here in Ireland to the Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil, from where the crew have just returned. Continuing to follow conservation stories around the world, the crew will soon be embarking on another journey to Zimbabwe in Africa to film critically endangered southern white rhinoceros in the wild.
‘The Zoo’ has been nominated in the factual category at this year's IFTA awards. Moondance’s international portfolio is also expanding further afield with ‘The Zoo’ continuing to broadcast on Animal Planet (UK), VRT (Belgium/Holland) and now additional territories including Denmark and Thailand.
Director and series producer Shane Brennan is joined by producer John Higgins, executive producer Brian Walsh, video editor Dan Gannon, online editor Nicky Dunne, narrator Tom Dunne and original music composer for the series, Giles Packham.
The fifth season of ‘The Zoo’ starts on RTE1 on April 10 at 7pm.
