‘Stalker’ writer/director Mark O’Connor will hold a new screenwriting course in the Lab on Foley Street starting on March 13th.
The six week course in screenwriting is designed for beginners who are interested in writing a feature film script. The course is devoted to exploring the ins and outs of screenwriting and it is aimed at writers who want to learn the art of screenwriting or filmmakers who want to develop their writing skills.
O’Connor, who holds a diploma from the New York Film Academy, a degree in film from Ballyfermot College and a Masters in Screenwriting from IADT, is best known for his work on ‘King of the Travellers’.
His other film credits include his debut feature ‘Between the Canals’ and Irish feature film ‘Stalker’, which premieres on February 26th at Movies@Dundrum.
O’Connor has taught screenwriting to Masters Students in Dun Laoghaire Institute of Technology, to students in the Irish film Academy and has worked as a script editor and consultant.
Material that will be covered in the screenwriting course includes; idea creation, master plots, character development, writing treatments, script formatting and funding opportunities among many others.
