RTÉ’s ‘Format Farm’ is looking for new cross-genre ideas from independent production sector to pilot on RTÉ One and RTÉ Two this Autumn.
This year RTÉ is adding to ‘Format Farm’ with a new cross genre Call for Ideas 2014 to include Lifestyle & Formats; Entertainment; Comedy & Music and Regional, Diversity, Wildlife & Education.
There will be two peak time slots on RTÉ One and two peak time slots on RTÉ TWO designated for broadcast pilots which emerge from this year’s ‘Format Farm Call for Ideas’.
For successful ideas, RTÉ and an International Distributor (decided by the Producer) will invest €25,000 each in the production of a one-off broadcast pilot of a format idea. Budgets should reflect the needs of the production and take into consideration the finance available.
Producers are first asked to submit their format proposals to the relevant RTÉ Genre for assessment before approaching international distributors. Individual Genre departments will assess submitted format ideas and ‘Amber Light’ a shortlist of ideas which Producers can then pitch to international distributors for support and investment through the Format Farm initiative.
The deadline for submissions to relevant RTÉ Format Farm Genres is Friday 21st February at 5pm.
