Irish actor Michael Fassbender has been nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his turn as plantation owner Edwin Epps in Steve McQueen's upcoming '12 Year's A Slave', also featuring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Brad Pitt and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Further Irish interest includes the nomination of the cast of Belfast-shot 'Game of Thrones' for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, as well as a further nod to the individual contribution of Peter Dinklage in the form of an Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series nomination.
Other highlights from the nominees list include Judi Dench for her leading role in 'Philomena'.
