The Coca-Cola Cinemagic International Film Festival is set to return to Belfast once more this Monday November 18th, running the typical course that sees premiere screenings, industry masterclasses and acting workshops take over the city's venues for ten days of the year.
Now in its twenty-fourth year, the film festival continues to programme specifically to 12-25 year olds, with a festival schedule including new film previews and talent labs designed to educate and inspire the next generation of filmmakers.
Among the industry professionals set to helm the various Talent Labs are casting director Louise Kiely ('What Richard Did'), actors Surranne Jones ('A Touch of Cloth') and Gerard McCarthy ('The Fall'), as well as returning screenwriter Ryan Rowe ('Charlie's Angels').
As ever, the festival will also feature a bevy of screenings, including new releases and previews such as 'Bravehearts', which portrays the generation marked for life by the events of July 22, 2011 in Utoya Island; 'Hide Your Smiling Faces', an atmospheric exploration of life and death in rural America, as well as 'Catching Fire', the latest entry in 'The Hunger Games' trilogy.
Particularly in line with the festival's mission statement to introduce and educate young people to the world of cinema, A special celebration of young filmmaking talent will take place at Odyssey Cinemas, Belfast, at 7pm, on 19th November, at which films made by young people will be premiered.
Just one of three festivals organized by Cinemagic year-round, The Coca-Cola Cinemagic International Film Festival is supported by Northern Ireland Screen supported by DCAL, and funded by Belfast City Council and DSD.
