Stuart Townsend’s New US Series ‘Betrayal’ Starts Tonight on RTÉ Two
2013-10-29 12:45 : By Julie Browne
Stuart Townsend and Hannah Ware star in 'Betrayal' starting tonight at 10pm on RTÉ Two
Irish actor Stuart Townsend stars in new US drama series ‘Betrayal’, focusing on a murder trial, which starts on RTÉ Two tonight at 10pm.

The Dublin actor plays Jack McAllister, a lawyer married into a powerful family who begins an affair with photographer Sarah Hanley played by Hannah Ware (‘Boss’).

The premise revolves around a murder trial, which involves both of them on separate sides - which makes things even more complicated.

Townsend is best known for his roles in ‘About Adam’ and ‘The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’.

The cast of the series includes Henry Thomas (‘E.T.’, ‘Gangs of New York’), Chris Johnson (‘The Vampire Diaries’) and Wendy Moniz (‘Guiding Light’, ‘The Guardian’).

Based on the Dutch series ‘Overspel’, the series was written by David Zabel (‘ER’) and it was directed by Patty Jenkins (‘The Killing’, ‘Monster’).

Executive producers for the series are Zabel, Lisa Zwerling (‘ER’), Alon Aranya (‘Hostages’) and Rob Golenberg (‘Red Widow’).

’Betrayal’ is produced by ABC Studios and it is currently being filmed on location in Chicago. Eight episodes have been completed with a further five episodes yet to bet announced.

The series was acquired by RTÉ as part of its Autumn schedule by Brian Walsh who is Deputy Head of Acquisitions and Executive Producer at RTÉ.
