MIPCOM 2013 Set to Host 'Ireland on Screen' Delegates this 7-10th Oct

'Moonfleet', filmed in Ireland this Summer, is among the projects up for sale to international distibutors at MIPCOM 2013.
MIPCOM – the world’s largest market for the buying & selling of entertainment content, held annually at Cannes – begins this Monday 7th October, with Enterprise Ireland once again set to host the ‘Ireland on Screen’ stand.

Supported by the Irish Film Board, Ireland on Screen will provide a focal point in bringing Irish content to the attention of potential buyers and distributors.

‘Moonfleet’ - Sky One’s Ray Winstone-starring adventure filmed in Dublin, Wicklow & Kildare this Summer – is also for sale at MIPCOM 2013 in the hope of being sold on to international territories.

Irish participants this year include SPI (Screen Producers Ireland); Jam Media; Element Pictures; Octagon Films; Parallel Films; Ripple World Pictures; Samson Films & Accomplice Television; Screentime Shinawil; Studio Solas; Subotica; Telegael; Big Mountain Productions; Network Ireland Television; Lime Street Sound; Telegael; Crowe Horwath; Tile Films; Sideline; Studio PowWow; Grand Pictures; Like It Love It; Vision Independent Productions; Brown Bag Films; Video Elephant Ltd; Independent Pictures; Dublin Film Distributors; Cartoon Saloon; Waveform Studios; Gorilla Post Production; and My Audition Stage.

Also present at this year's event is Monster Entertainment, the Dublin-based distribution company, and the RTÉ international stand, responsible for their overseas sales.

The Irish film Board overseas participants confirmed to attend its lunch networking event include Yellowbird, Constantin TV, ZDF Enterprises, Gruppe 5 Filmproduktion GmbH, Tandem Communications, Don Carmody Television, Pinewood USA, WME, Lionsgate, FremantleMedia, BBC Worldwide and Sullivan Entertainment.

Among RTÉ’s programming output for sale at MIPCOM this year is the second season of 'Ireland’s Search and Rescue', documenting the work of Ireland’s rescue services on land and sea.

The series also features Irish people working in Sydney’s helicopter rescue teams and Irish-American fire fighters in New York during Hurricane Sandy.

The theme of this year’s MIPCOM is a celebration of the ‘Golden Age of Television’ - with MIPCOM’s Personality of the Year Dreamworks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg set to give a presentation on the future vision of the industry.

MIPCOM 2013 will be attended by over 13,000 delegates, over 4,400 buyers, and over 60 new exhibitors.
