Screen Training Ireland has announced the line-up of tutors for module 1, VFX: Script to Screen. The programme begins on Wednesday 18th September, and will include sessions, with leading VFX supervisors, including Frazer Churchill and Peter Muyzers.
Churchill, whose credits include ‘The English Patient’, ’The World’s End’, ‘Children of Men’ and’ Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’, will discuss the key relationships the VFX supervisor has with the director, cinematographer and production designer when working on a VFX feature film production.
This masterclass will take place on Wednesday 18th September at the Marker Hotel, Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2 at 4-6pm.
Oscar-nominated VFX Supervisor Peter Muyzers will be tutoring a masterclass on 21st September in the Lighthouse Cinema at 2pm.
The masterclass will showcase key scenes from films such as “District 9” and a full screening of “Elysium”, discussing how certain effects were achieved. Deadline for applicants is 5pm today, Monday 16th.
Other tutors confirmed include VFX supervisors Florian Gellinger - ‘Cloud Atlas’, Stefan Lang -‘Alexander’ and ‘Die Another Day’ and Paddy Eason - ‘The Borgias’,’ I Give it A Year’, and ‘Prince of Persia: Sands of Time’.
The first module of the programme will provide an opportunity to explore European low budget VFX feature filmmaking with a focus on Scandinavian studios such as Fido and Storm, in particular their collaboration on specific projects.
European studios such as RISE Films in Germany, Double Negative, Proof and NVizible in the UK, and Dublin’s Screen Scene VFX and Windmill Lane VFX will offer participants their perspective on large-scale international TV drama and feature projects such as ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Vikings’, ‘The Borgias’, ‘Cloud Atlas’, ‘The World’s End’ and ‘World War Z’.
