‘Corp + Anam’, TG4’s IFTA-nominated series about a crime correspondent determined to pursue the truth behind every story, began filming its second season today in Galway.
Irish actors Diarmuid de Faoite and Maria Doyle Kennedy have returned for another four one-hour episodes, written & directed by Darach Mac Con Iomaire and produced by Paddy Hayes ('Am an Ghátair') for Galway-based Magamedia.
Mr Hayes told IFTN that the new episodes will investigate corruption within the legal profession and confirmed that production will continue for the next eight weeks.
Diarmuid de Faoite is known for roles in ‘Ros na Rún’ and ‘Kings’, while Maria Doyle Kennedy’s screen credits include ‘Orphan Black’, ‘Dexter’ and ‘The Tudors’ – for which she won the IFTA for Best Supporting Actress twice in 2008 and 2009.
Also among the production team are director of photography Colm Hogan (‘Seachtar na Cásca’); designer Nicola Moroney (‘Songs for Amy’); and editor Conall de Cléir (‘Cré na Cille’).
‘Corp + Anam’ series one was nominated for five IFTA awards last year in the categories of Best TV drama, Best Writer, Best Irish Language programme and Best Actor and Actress; and also picked up two awards at the Celtic Media festival.
The series is produced with funding from TG4, the BAI and Section 481; and season two will be broadcast on TG4 in Autumn 2014.
