‘Love/Hate’ star Aidan Gillen and creator Stuart Carolan will take part in the Arts Council's literary tent at Electric Picnic this weekend, alongside Irish talent including Dylan Moran, Amy Huberman and ‘Artemis Fowl’ author Eoin Colfer.
Gillen - who won IFTAs for playing John Boy Power in ‘Love/Hate’ and Mayor Tommy Carcetti in ‘The Wire’ – is also known for roles in ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’
Stuart Carolan also won IFTA awards for the last two years for his writing work on ‘Love/Hate’, which is shortly to commence its fourth season as part of RTÉ’s Autumn schedule.
Wexford author Eoin Colfer recently received the good news that his children’s book series ‘Artemis Fowl’ was being adapted into a Hollywood movie by Disney Pictures and producer Harvey Weinstein.
Joining him will be fellow author John Boyne, whose children’s novel ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’, produced by Miramax & BBC Films, also successfully made the leap to the big screen.
Irish comedian Dylan Moran, who received IFTA nominations for ‘A Film With Me in it’ and ‘Black Books’, will discuss his comedy and script-writing career.
Amy Huberman will next be seen in John Butler’s ‘The Stag’ and will attend the film’s world premiere along with the rest of the cast, at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Paul Murray, writer of ‘Skippy Dies’, and Lisa Hannigan will also feature among the high-profile names participating in this year’s literary tent.
