Dublin-based writer Brian Lynch has created and written a new BBC children’s comedy series ‘All at Sea’, about an 11-year-old boy with incredible leadership skills, which is now filming in the UK for broadcast this autumn.
Mr Lynch previously penned several episode of ‘The Clinic’ for RTÉ and ‘Raw’ for Ecosse Films; was nominated for a Bafta for UTV’s 'My Parents are Aliens’; and wrote ‘Cáca Milis’, starring Brendan Gleeson, which won the IFTA for Best Short Film in 2003.
‘All at Sea’ follows the adventures of 11-year-old Charlie, whose parents leave London and open a B&B in seaside Scarborough where he creates havoc with his insane plans, vivid imagination and exceptional drive.
The 13-episode comedy series is currently filming in Manchester, Stockport and Scarborough and aimed at 8-12 year olds on Children's BBC.
Cast members include Ryan Wilkinson ('Shameless'), who plays the lead role of Charlie; Steve Edge ('Starlings'), Nicola Stephenson ('Clocking Off') and Olivia Cosgrove ('Little Crackers').
‘All At Sea’ is executive produced by Connal Orton ('4 O'Clock Club', 'Lost Christmas') and produced by Juliet Charlesworth ('Hit and Miss').
Among Mr Lynch’s other credits are ‘Young Leonardo’, ‘The Cassidy’s’; ‘Custer’s Last Stand-Up’ and ‘Cave Girl’.
‘All at Sea’ will begin on BBC in late September.
