‘Breaking Bad’ Final Episodes Premiere
Cast and crew of ‘Breaking Bad’, AMC’s hit show starring Bryan Cranston as a chemistry teacher turned crystal meth manufacturer, gathered in Los Angeles yesterday for the premiere of the final ever batch of episodes. Fittingly, the cast arrived in Jesse’s RV (belching yellow smoke) with Aaron Paul himself behind the wheel. As Bryan Cranston reflected on his character Walter White’s fate, he told the Hollywood Reporter, ‘He lives moment to moment. He doesn’t have the luxury of retrospective thought. He’s trying to stay alive.’ RJ Mitte, who plays Walt Jr, also promised the ending will not disappoint fans. ‘There will be no loopholes. There will be no endings that are dreams. I think the fans are going to love it. I think everyone is going to react to it very well.’ Showrunner Vince Gilligan admitted he cried when he wrote the final words on the script to the last episode. The final eight episodes will premiere on AMC in August.

Sony Pictures Classics Acquires Lance Armstrong documentary
Alex Gibney, who directed the IFTA-winning ‘Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God’, has sold the worldwide rights to his documentary about disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong to Sony Pictures Classic for worldwide distribution. ‘The Armstrong Lie’ follows the last four years of Armstrong's career up to the shocking revelations events in 2012 that he owed his Tour de France victories to doping. Producers Frank Marshall and Matt Tolmach told Screen International, ‘We set out to make a movie about a comeback - with unlimited and unprecedented access to Armstrong and the inner-workings of the Tour De France. Along the way, we ended up chronicling the collapse of one of the greatest myths and legends of our time.’
