David Bowie’s career, as recounted through his music videos, will spearhead a new series of ‘Video Killed the Radio Star’, co-produced and distributed by Dublin’s Monster Entertainment, which is set to premiere on Sky Arts 1 HD this 22nd June.
Produced and directed by Grammy award-winner Scott Millaney, Monster Entertainment’s latest series will consist of 13 twenty-two minute episodes.
Interest in Bowie has never been higher following the release of his first album in a decade ‘The Next Day’ and the sell-out of the David Bowie exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
Beginning with ‘David Bowie: Golden Years of Music Video’, the show will examine the life and ideas behind some of music’s most famous videos - intercutting the original videos with the artists’ exploits and stories from the directors.
Other musical artists to be featured in subsequent episodes include Neil Young, The Cure, Blondie, Kate Bush, Oasis, Joe Strummer, Elton John and Madonna.
Mr Millaney has worked in the music video business for 35 years, stretching from Bob Marley At the Rainbow in 1977 to the birth of MTV in 1981 and beyond, during which time he produced over a thousand music videos.
