Shooting has finished on Terry McMahon’s feature ‘Patrick’s Day’.
The film explores the consequences of an intimate relationship between a mentally ill young man and a suicidal air-hostess as his obsessive mother enlists a dysfunctional cop to break them up.
'Patrick's Day' stars Silver Bear Winner, Kerry Fox (An Angel at My Table, Shallow Grave, Intimacy), in the lead role, and Screen Actors Guild nominee, Philip Jackson (Little Voice, My Week With Marilyn, Brassed Off).
Written and directed by McMahon, the film is produced by Tim Palmer, (Into the West, A Love Divided, Last of the High Kings), and Rachel Lysaght, (The Pipe, Muide Eire, Dreams of a Life) with support from The Irish Film Board, RTE and finance from England and Northern Ireland. World Cinematography Award winner, Michael Lavelle is director of photography with IFTA award winner Hugh Fox on sound.
Patrick’s Day cast includes, in the title role, Moe Dunford, (Game Of Thrones, The Tudors, The Nixer) Catherine Walker, (Northhanger Abbey, Leap Year, Waking The Dead) as the air-hostess, and OBIE Award winner, Aaron Monaghan, (The Other Side of Sleep, Hideaways, Ella Enchanted), as Patrick’s best friend.
Post production commences at Screen Scene with three times IFTA winner, Emer Reynolds, (Jump, The Eclipse, Shameless) as editor.
McMahon previously directed ‘Charlie Casanova’, which starred Emmett J. Scanlan and Leigh Arnold. The film was also nominated for four IFTAs at the 2012 awards ceremony.
