The Fingal Film Festival, now in its second year, opened last night and will conclude Sunday 12th May - featuring a full schedule of screenings, workshops and talks with film industry guests.
Among the industry guests hosting workshops this year are Brownbag Films’ Jennie Stacy, Richard Keane & Damien O’ Connor; Edwina Forkin (Headrush) of Zanzibar Films; Director of Photography Cian de Buitléar (Saving Private Ryan); BAFTA winning director/producer Peter Nicholson; and actor Stephen Lord (Shameless, Into the Fire).
Last night, the festival kicked off with a preview screening of Tobias Lindholm's ‘A Hijacking’ at the Odeon cinema.
Presentations for the ‘Best International Film’, ‘Best Fingal Newcomer Writer or Director’, ‘Best Short Film’, ‘Best Documentary’, ‘Best Feature Film’, ‘Best Animation Short/Feature’, and ‘Best Student Film/Doc/Animation’, as selected by a Panel which includes Director of Photography Ciaran Tanham; director Aisling Walsh; Tyrone D Murphy; and Animation Director Shane Collins (Brownbag Films) will be presented on Sunday evening.
