As part of their Filmbase Masters in Digital Feature Film Production, students assembled an impressive cast - including Brian Gleeson and Gemma-Leah Devereux - for their comedy feature ‘How to be Happy’ which wraps filming on location in Dublin this Easter weekend.
The film is written by Conor Horgan, who previously worked with Filmbase students on ‘Keys to the City’ which received its world premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh 2012 and is being screened this weekend at the Titanic Film Festival in Budapest alongside 'What Richard Did', 'Grabbers' and 'Good Vibrations'.
‘How to be Happy’ focuses on the story of Cormac, a marriage guidance counsellor who starts sleeping with his clients, and Flor, a private detective hired to investigate his antics. The film is being shot on RED digital cameras and will complete post-production by early summer for festivals and distribution.
The cast also includes Stephen Mullan (Out of Here), Laura Way (Anton, Opus K), Brian Fortune (Game of Thrones, Savage), Carrie Crowley (Earthbound, Rásaí na Gaillimhe), Rebekah Wainwright (The Tudors), Lesley Conroy (Mattie, Life's a Breeze), Steve Gunn (Titanic: Blood and Steel), Geraldine McAlinden (Portrait of a Zombie) and Lesa Thruman (Quirke).
