Production begins on ‘A Walk among the Tombstones’, starring Liam Neeson Filming is taking place in New York for writer/director Scott Frank’s new feature ‘A Walk among the Tombstones’. The feature stars Irish actor Liam Neeson as an ex-cop, Matt Scudder, who investigates the kidnapping of heroin drug lord’s wife, teaming up with a heroin trafficker and his brother to hunt down the men responsible for the crime. Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) and Boyd Holbrrok (Milk) star as the trafficker and his brother, with Ruth Wilson also starring. The film is based on one of 17 Matt Scudder novels written by critically acclaimed author Lawrence Block.
‘Veronica Mars’ film reaches goal of $2 Million on Kickstarter Fans of the hit television series, ‘Veronica Mars’, have donated $2 million to fund a feature-length film based on the series. The campaign, started by series creator Rob Thomas, was started Wednesday morning, with the goal of reaching that figure within a month – however, the campaign reached its goal in less than one day, and donations are still being accepted. Since the teenage detective drama-comedy was cancelled in 2007, fans have continuously pushed for a feature-length version of the show, but the studio in charge of the series, Warner Bros., have remained hesitant to fund such a project. Now, it seems that pre-production will soon begin on a ‘Veronica Mars’ film, courtesy of Kickstarter.
International trailer for ‘The Lone Ranger’ released A new international trailer for Johnny Depp’s upcoming blockbuster ‘The Lone Ranger’ has been released. The film also stars rising star Armie Hammer (The Social Network), and is directed by Gore Verbinski (director of the first three films in ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise). The film also stars Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, Barry Pepper, William Fichtner, and Ruth Wilson. Distributed by Disney films, the film is set to be released here on August 9th.
