Community-funded feature film by Donal Foreman is close to raising funds for completion.
Filmed in Dublin last September, the film charts the adventures of Ciaran, a young Dubliner who returns home from his foreign travels too soon and finds that everything has changed in his absence.
Not only have his friends and ex-girlfriend moved on without him, but he finds himself broke, living back with his parents, and questioning whether he should have come home to Ireland at all.
Written and directed by Donal Foreman, the story reflects the experiences and dilemmas faced by many of the current Irish diaspora and is sure to strike a chord with Irish audiences at home and abroad.
The film’s cast includes a host of up-and-coming Irish talent including Fionn Walton (What Richard Did, Rhinos); Aoife Duffin (Moone Boy, What Richard Did, Earthbound); Arthur Riordain (Stella Days), Gina Moxley (The Butcher Boy), Jer O’Leary (In America); Annabell Rickerby (Golgotha), Emma Eliza Regan (The fading Light) and Roxanna Nic Liam (Love/Hate).
Produced by Emmet Fleming for Stalker Films, the film was shot by DOP Piers McGrail (Kelly + Victor) on the RED Epic camera, and features a live performance by Dublin underground band Patrick Kelleher and His Cold Dead Hands.
The film has already raised €24,910 out of the €30,000 required, with details on its website about how to invest and how future profits will be divided between investors, cast and crew, and the production company.
