‘The Walking Dead’ Returns With Series Best Ratings… AMC series ‘The Walking Dead’ aired its US mid-season premiere after a two month-long hiatus last Sunday, reaching 12.3 million total viewers. In the series highest ratings yet, beating the 10.9 million who tuned in to the opening episode of season three, viewers caught up with Daryl and Merle, in an episode entitled ‘Made To Suffer’, as they saw the outcome of the Governor’s plans. During the show’s winter hiatus, it was announced that a fourth season had been commissioned, however show runner Glen Mazzara would not be returning. FX will air the mid-season premiere in Ireland and the UK on Friday February 15.

‘Netflix & DreamWorks Partner On Original Kids Series… Netflix and DreamWorks Animation today announced they will create the first ever Netflix Original Series for kids. Based on DreamWorks’ 3D animated film ‘Turbo’, the Netflix programme, ‘Turbo: F.A.S.T.’ (Fast Action Stunt Team) debuts exclusively in December in the US and across the globe in the 40 other Netflix countries. ‘Turbo’ is about an ordinary snail who dares to dream big – and fast. After a freak accident gives him the power of super-speed, he embarks on a journey to achieve the impossible: competing in the Indianapolis 500. Stars such as Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Ken Jeong, Maya Rudolph and Samuel L Jackson all voice characters.

‘NBC Continues To Cast For Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ ‘Dracula’… Thomas Kretschmann (Wanted) has been cast as vampire hunter Van Helsing in upcoming NBC series ‘Dracula’. Kretschmann’s character will attempt to hunt down ‘Dracula’, played by Cork actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, as he disguises himself as an American business man in Victorian London. Oliver Jackson-Cohen, most recently seen in ‘Mr. Selfridge’, has also been cast in the 10-part series, which will air on NBC and Sky Living UK. Irish actresses Victoria Smurfit (The Clinic) and Katie McGrath (Merlin) will also feature, along with Jessica De Guow (Arrow), and Nonso Anozie (Game of Thrones).
