Irish feature 'Fishbowl City' will begin principal photography in Belfast this Sunday (December 16).
Belfast actor Martin McCann will direct from his own script, marking the young actor's directorial debut.
As reported on IFTN last month, McCann will also star in the drama alongside Northern Irish actors Terry Keeley, John Travers and Ciaran Nolan.
The feature has had a number of new developments in recent weeks, with production moved up from 2013 to December 2012, and McCann adding a director's role to his writer and producer roles.
New cast on board the drama includes Northern Irish actors Gerard Jordan and Peter Ballance, both of whom acted in ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Waterloo Road’ actress Josie Walker and ‘Fifty Dead Men Walking’ actor James Doran.
McCann will shoot for four days in Belfast from December 16, with DoP Youcef Boubetnikh. Filming will commence again in January for a further two weeks.
The film follows two brothers from Belfast whose lives take different directions through their own choices.
McCann has funded the majority of the project himself, with additional funds coming from a crowd sourcing website.
Speaking to IFTN, the 'Jump' actor said despite the crew line up changing in recent weeks, he was relieved that "all the cast I wanted from the start remained the same". He added: "I’ve learned more in the last two months than I have in my whole career”.
McCann can currently be seen next in Kieron J Walsh's 'Jump' and James Marsh’s 'Shadow Dancer', both Northern Irish-based features.
The IFTA winner told IFTN his next plans are to move back to London to source his next acting project.
