‘Me and Mrs Jones’ Axed By BBC… The BBC has decided not to renew the Robert Sheehan-starring show ‘Me and Mrs Jones’ after ratings for the first season only averaged 2.79m. The BBC One show will not return for a second series, after ratings continued to drop over six episodes. Neil Morrissey and Sarah Alexander starred alongside Sheehan.
Warner Brothers Victorious Over Knock-Off ‘The Hobbit’… Warner Brothers and MGM were celebrating yesterday after the two distribution houses won a restraining order against ‘The Age of The Hobbit’, a film that’s being dubbed as a ‘mockbuster’, which was due to screen in the same week as Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit’ In a statement released today, Warner Brothers said Global Asylum, the distributors of ‘The Age of The Hobbit’, intended to “create confusion in the marketplace” with a “cynical business model”. ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ is released in Irish cinemas on Thursday, December 13. AFI Unveils 10 best List… ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Homeland’, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and ‘Lincoln’ have all made the American Film Institute’s annual 10 Best List. Irish-shot ‘Game of Thrones’ has made the top 10 Programs of the Year list, joining Showtime’s ‘Homeland’, of which season two is currently airing on RTÉ Two, and ‘Mad Men’, of which season five can also be seen on RTÉ Two. The 2013 AFI Awards will be held on January 11.
