Liam Neeson has joined the cast of the upcoming Warner Brothers ‘Lego’ feature animation.
The Antrim-born actor joins Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman and Will Arnett in the 3D feature, which is currently in production.
Neeson, whose last feature ‘Taken 2’ broke box office records, reaching number one in North America just last month, is no stranger to voicing characters for kids TV, having previously leant his skills to ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’, and ‘A Child’s Garden of Poetry’.
Village Roadshow, the Australian production company which is behind the upcoming ‘Gangster Squad’ and ‘The Great Gatsby’ releases, is producing the ‘Lego’ feature film. Dan Lin and Roy Lee are the producers.
‘21 Jump Street’ helmers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directing from their original screenplay. Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman contributed to the script, based on the Lego toyline, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Also on board to voice lead characters is Chris Pratt, who features in ‘The Delivery Man’ with Jack Reynor and Simon Delaney, Nick Offerman (21 Jump Street), Alison Brie (Mad Men) and Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games).
Neeson will be seen next opposite Julianne Moore in action thriller ‘Non-Stop’, in which he plays an air marshall who is tasked with saving passengers on a travelling airline.
