Warner Bros buys post-production house De Lane Lea…
British post-production house De Lane Lea has been bought by Warner Bros Studios Leavesden. The acquirement of the London-based production hub will allow the recently opened Warner Brothers studio to provide a full production service for its UK production clients, similar to the service it offers in California. De Lane Lea recently carried out post on ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Frankenweenie’ and is one of Britain’s leading post facilities.
BBC sweeps the board at Grierson Awards…Despite three nominations, there were no Irish winners at last night’s Grierson Awards in London for documentary films. Paul Duane’s ‘Barbaric Genius, Carol Morley’s ‘Dreams of a Life’ and Ian Palmer’s ‘Knuckle’ all saw documentaries screened on the BBC sweep the board. Among the winners was ‘Terry Pratchett: Choosing to Die’, which was produced by Keo North for BBC2. It won best documentary on a contemporary theme – domestic, with BBC4’s ‘After Life: The Strange Science of Decay’ and ‘The Love of Books: A Sarajevo Story’ also picking up prizes on the night.
