Hollywood Black List Expands…
The annual Black List of Hollywood, which features Hollywood’s most liked screenplays, is launching a new paid service where any screenwriter can upload their script to an online database for a fee. The result means the script could be read by thousands of industry professionals, after it is evaluated by professional script readers. Scripts which have made the Black List in the past include ‘Jane Got a Gun’, the Michael Fassbender/Natalie Portman-attached western, and the Quentin Tarantino-directed ‘Django Unchained’, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx.

Channel 4 Axes T4… Channel 4 is axing its popular young people’s programme T4 after 14 years, as it prepares to launch a late night music show to hold onto its young audience. T4 has been a starting point for a number of successful TV and radio presenters, including Dermot O’Leary, who now hosts the UK’s ‘The X Factor’, Nick Grimshaw, who fronts his own BBC radio show, Alexa Chung, who went on to present ‘Gonzo’ on MTV and Simon Amstell, who fronted ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ on BBC for a number of years.

Tony Montana Gets A Makeover… Screenwriter Paul Attanasio has been hired by Universal Pictures to rewrite the original ‘Scarface’ screenplay by David Ayer, to turn the original 1932 story into a contemporary one, of an outsider, an immigrant and the criminal underworld. Attanasio’s version is not intended to be a remake or a sequel of the 1983 version made famous by Al Pacino and director Brian De-Palma. Attanasio has prior links to Pacino having written the screenplay for ‘Donnie Brasco’, which starred Pacino and Johnny Depp.

If you watch one trailer today… The latest trailer for ‘Silent Hill: Revelation 3D’, starring ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Kit Harrington, is released in cinemas October 31.
