Pre-production has begun on a new RTÉ dating show called ‘Date with Fate’ with producers seeking single participants over the age of 20.
Tyrone Productions has developed the original format idea for a one-off show to air on RTÉ Two early next year.
The new dating show concept is being backed by FremantleMedia, which is home to the ‘Got Talent’, ‘Idol’ and ‘X Factor’ formats through its various content divisions.
Dublin-based Tyrone Productions is currently calling on singletons over the age of 20 who are looking for love to take part in ‘Date with Fate’ in the hope of finding a long-term partner.
The unique premise of the show sees a single participant choose one partner out of six based on that person’s future relationship expectations. The starting list of six suitors is whittled down to a final two. At that stage the singleton will have a chance to see two alternative homes of the future - depending on which partner they pick.
The show uses extensive research, assessment, background chats, family history, goals, aspirations, career potential and economic forecasts to create two very different representations of what a couple’s future home and life might look like if they ended up together.
The show has been described as “fun, it’s flirty, it’s future dating.”
Noleen Golding and Carrie Nathan are producing for Tyrone. The show will air on RTÉ Two in early 2013 under the station’s Reality Bites strand, which has previously aired ‘Gay Daddy’ and ‘Ladies Day’.
If you’re over 20, single, and looking for love, email your name, your age and your contact details to datewithfate@tyroneproductions.ie. The closing date for applications is Friday November 16.
