Irish cook Donal Skehan has joined the BBC as one of the presenters on their new ‘MasterChef’ show.

Skehan, who has appeared as a presenter in two series of RTÉ One’s ‘Kitchen Hero’, will co-present ‘Junior MasterChef’ on CBBC.

He will be joined by veteran MasterChef presenter John Torode with the 15-part series set to air later this year. Skehan will replace Nadia Swahala on the CBBC show.

Shine Television will produce the series with Karen Ross as executive producer and Antonia Lloyd serving as series producer.

The first series of ‘Junior MasterChef’ aired on CBBC in 2010.
