ITV has today axed 45 jobs in technical and support roles from its regional news offices. The UK broadcaster is also expected to cut staff in editorial roles in the coming weeks. Today’s job losses amount to less than 8 per cent of the 600 staff employed in ITV’s regional offices. An ITV spokesman said: “The proposals we have outlined today are designed to modernise some of our working practices and ensure we are continuing to provide first-class news for viewers, on an economically sustainable basis.”
‘Ripper Street’ executive producer promoted… ‘Ripper Street’ executive producer Will Gould has been promoted to head of drama at the UK’s Tiger Aspect Productions. Gould is replacing Greg Brenman, who is leaving the Endemol-owned company to set up his own indie production company. Gould was executive producer on Element Pictures co-production ‘Ripper Street’ and a regular visitor to the Clancy Barracks set. Tiger Aspect is undergoing a major reshuffle lately with Sophie Clarke-Jervoise appointed the new managing director last month.
