British broadcaster ITV has been exploring two channel ideas as potential pay-TV launches, Broadcast reports. The station is looking into the commercial potential for a channel that airs its back catalogue and one that will carry premium US content. Among content that could feature among its back catalogue includes Inspector Morse and Dancing On Ice. ITV also airs popular shows such as ‘Foyle’s War’.
Major biopics gear up for Oscar race…Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’ and Sacha Gervasi’s ‘Hitchcock’ will both premiere in November as they gear up for next February’s Oscar race. ‘Lincoln’, which stars Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th US President, will close the American Film Institute festival on November 8. ‘Hitchcock’, staring Anthony Hopkins as the acclaimed British director, will premiere on November 23.
