VFX and CG supervisor Dietrich Hasse and Irish 3D director Catherine Owens are among the tutors set to take part in next month’s 3D in Europe course, which takes place over September 20-28 in Dublin.
Hasse, a member of the team at global visual effects company Trixter, and Owens, the director of 2007’s ‘U2-3D’, will both share their experience at the third annual event organised by FÁS Screen Training Ireland.
Hasse has recently managed the CG on ‘Lilli the Witch 2’ and the stereoscopic supervision on the 3D conversion of shots from ‘Narnia 3’ and ‘The Green Hornet’.
Owens, who has worked as an art director with U2 since 1992, shot ‘U2-3D’ using dozens of 3D cameras. She is currently working on two 3D feature projects involving the work of Oscar Wilde and a documentary on Irish dancer, Colin Dunne.
Other tutors who will take part in the course include Rebekka Garrido, managing director at The Post Republic and post-production supervisor on Europe’s first 3D feature film, ‘Streetdance’; stereographer Paul Taylor (A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas, Kylie Minogue 3D); Alexander Lentjes, stereoscopic 3D consultant at 3D Revolution Productions; Anna Monier, 3D production manager at Cow Productions; and Bill White, managing partner at the 3D Camera Company.
