Post-production on two documentaries for RTÉ on the Irish education system are to get underway this month at Egg after being produced by Wildfire Films.
‘Inside The Department’, a documentary about life inside the Department of Education, has been in production over the past year.
Directed by Adrian McCarthy, the one-off documentary documents a year in the life of Minister Ruairi Quinn at work in the Department of Education.
Martha O’Neill is producing with Brenda Morrissey set to edit the documentary at Egg. Egg will then carry out all further post-production. Some filming, however, will continue while post gets underway.
Egg will also carry out full post on ‘John Lonergan: School Of Thought,’ a documentary following the former governor of Mountjoy Prison as he investigates the Irish education system.
The documentary is currently being shot by director Anna Rodgers and producer Martha O’Neill, and is due to go into post-production later this month. No editor has yet been confirmed for the project. Like ‘Inside The Department,’ filming on the documentary will continue as post is being carried out.
Both documentaries are funded by RTÉ and are part of the broadcaster’s themed week of programming looking at all aspects of the education system in Ireland. Both were commissioned last September and will air this autumn.
