'Grabbers'
Irish director Jon Wright’s feature film ‘Grabbers’ has been officially selected as the opening film for the Galway Film Fleadh, which takes place on July 10-15.

The comedy is a monster-based film, starring Irish actresses Ruth Bradley (Love/Hate), Bronagh Gallagher (Albert Nobbs), and British actors Russell Tovey (Doctor Who, Gavin and Stacey) and Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia).

The film sees local police officers fight to protect their village against squid-like creatures that invade their hometown.

Irish filmmaker Kevin Lehane (The Fourth Wall) wrote the script, which Belfast-born Jon Wright (Tormented, Fancy Dress) directed. Dublin’s Samson Films co-produced with Forward Films, based in the UK.

The film has already been officially selected for the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) which starts June 20.

The Galway Film Fleadh starts on July 10, with tickets for the opening night film now available. Tickets can be purchased at the Town Hall Theatre, Galway. For further details and information, log onto www.galwayfilmfleadh.com.
