‘Collider’ the feature film will go into production this autumn and follows the launch of the multi-platform story through comic books, online games and a series of live-action webisodes by the transmedia company on June 4 last.

While the web series was shot in Lisbon, Portugal, last year, it is not yet known where the movie version of the story will be shot or whether any of the production will be carried out in Ireland. beActive are keeping details of the project under wraps, however the feature will be released in 2013.

Irish producer and beActive co-founder Triona Campbell produced the eight-part web series alongside her fellow beActive company director Nuno Bernardo. Bernardo also directed a series of scripts from Catriona Scott.

’Collider’ tells the story of six people transported to a post-apocalyptic 2018, where they have to fight to discover how they got there, how to survive, and how to get back to the present.

Among the other platforms the ‘Collider’ story is being told include a website - www.colliderworld.com - and an app/game.

beActive’s co-founder and award winning Irish producer Triona Campbell said of ‘Collider’: “We are pleased to offer sci-fi fans a brand new transmedia project. The elements that make up this innovative and engaging storyline demonstrate beActive’s continued commitment to telling narrative across multiple platforms.

“The complexity of the characters and the journey they take makes this a real sci-fi spectacular, guaranteed to have you on the edge of your seat”.

The eight part web series (released on Youtube) features BAFTA award winning Scottish actor Iain Robertson (Basic Instinct 2).
