Irish actress and singer Ellen Cosgrove has picked up the Best Actress Award at the Milan International Film Festival for her first ever film role.
Dublin-born Cosgrove, who now resides in Brighton, plays musician Rose in upcoming feature ‘City of Dreamers’. The film delves into the Brighton music scene, tracing Rose’s journey from finding love to finding herself.
UK-based Jamie Patterson (Billboard) of Jumpstart Productions wrote, directed and produced ‘City of Dreamers’, with Danny Patterson and Nathalie Grace (Broken Wings) also producing. Max Denyer was the first assistant director. Eddy Brimson and Ross Scarfield star alongside Cosgrove.
Cosgrove was a contestant on Irish singing contest ‘You’re A Star’ in 2002, and currently fronts her own pop band, Ellen and The Echo.
